First results from a 760-GW linear transformer driver module for Z-pinch research

In this paper, the results of tests on a 0.76-TW linear transformer driver (LTD) module for Z-pinch research are presented first time. Ten LTD cavities, each generating 1-MA/90-kV pulse matched load, were connected in series with magnetically insulated voltage adder to drive e-beam diode. Three inner stalks different radii tested, and indicate that output parameters ten cavities sensitive cathode radii. As an intermediate step, high-current 832 kV/912 kA/130 ns was obtained To date, is maximum power generated directly by fast mega-ampere current output.
